Williams, Rhys

Rhys Williams was born in New South Wales 1894 and died 1976, a well-respected engraver, painter, commercial artist and illustrator.

He studied at the East Sydney Technical College and at the J.S Watkins School. 

Williams was an 'official' artist during WWII with the Volunteer Defence Corps Division and a Fellow of the Royal Art Society of NSW

He won several awards including the Berrima prize in 1962

His work is represented at :

The Art Gallery of New South Wales
and Private and Institutional Collections
